An Innisfil man faces charges after police responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in Alcona on Tuesday.

"The suspect had left the scene in a vehicle but was subsequently arrested without incident," The South Simcoe Police Service stated in a release. "Two people were treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and released."

A 44-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

"Due to the domestic nature of this incident, the suspect's name will not be released to protect the identities of the victims," police added.

Officers say the knife believed to have been used in the incident was recovered.
