
A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after Southern Georgian Bay OPP say they responded to a "serious incident" that occurred on Hanna Street in Midland.
Around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, provincial police received a report about a stabbing inside a residence on Hann Street. When officers arrived, they found a 64-year-old man suffered from serious injuries.
The suspect, who is from Midland, was located elsewhere within the residence and was taken into custody.
The victim was treated by paramedics and firefighters on scene and then taken to a local hospital before being transferred to a Toronto-area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The accused has also been charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.
The teen is to appear in court on Monday.
Police add that a pet that escaped from the home has been returned and is safe.
