If you love this snowy season, Winterfest 2020 is here with tons of activities, entertainment, and food for you to enjoy at Heritage Park, Meridian Place, and other venues across the city. If you don't love it, Winterfest might just change your mind.
There really is an enormous amount of fun to be had this year so here is just a taste of what you can expect.
Entertainment
If you're looking for some regular, tame shows you can see anywhere, best look somewhere else. Professional ice carvers shredding up some sculptures with chainsaws? Check. A lumberjack show with speed sawing and axe throwing? You bet. There's also lots of family-friendly shows like an interactive sing-along with Mabel Moon and a sparkling LED lights dance with the Snowflake Princess.
Food
There will be plenty of sweet treats to keep you perked up while you walking around Winterfest. Kick off the Saturday with a pancake breakfast at the Barrie Lion's Club, Sample some delicious Maple Taffy, or even head over the Barrie Farmers' Market for fresh produce and baked goods (among many other things). Don't forget to warm yourself up with the Hot Cocoa Trail too!
Activities
Where to begin? Horse-drawn wagon rides, bonfires, Dog Cart Rides, helicopter rides, inflatable slides, BodyZorbs, mini-golf, curling, and so much more. If you're feeling brave (really brave), you can face the ice-cold waters of Kempenfelt Bay for the Polar Bear Dip. There are also tons of partner locations like the Barrie Public Library and the Maclaren Art Centre hosting special events too.
Shuttle
There is a shuttle running on both days of the festival that gives a comfortable, warm, and free way to get yourself Downtown. Pick-up will be on Coulter Street at stop #203 so you can park at the Georgian Mall and drop-off will be at the Downtown Transit Terminal.

Barrie's Winterfest kicks off February 1st from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a second day on February 2nd from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Gather your friends and family, grab your mittens, and let's celebrate winter.
