Stayner man charged with arson following fires at Collingwood business

A 20-year-old Stayner man has been charged in connection with several fires at The Tire Guys in Collingwood.

"On November 13, 2023, OPP officers attended the scene of a fire at approximately 3:50 p.m. at a business on Beachwood Road in Collingwood. There were no injuries. Then on November 26, 2023, OPP officers were called to the scene of a fire at approximately 5:20 a.m., at the same business. No one was injured in the blaze," police said in a news release on Saturday.

The fires burned tires that were in storage containers and stored outside.

The suspect has been charged with two counts of arson.

The accused was held for bail and appeared in court on Saturday where he was released on conditions.
