Woodbridge Man Facing List of Charges

A brief police chase through New Tecumseth has a Woodbridge man facing a slew of charges.

It started witha call to Nottawasaga OPP around 4:00 Thursday afternoon, of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot in west Alliston.

Officers showed up and say the driver tried to flee the scene, striking a parked car in the process.

A brief chase was called off for safety’s sake, but police tracked down the vehicle a short time later. Squad cars were used to block the vehicle in, leading the driver to hit a wall in an attempt to get away before fleeing on foot.

He was taken into custody nearby, where police say they learned the 22-year-old man was in possession of stolen identification.

Charges include Driving Under Suspension, Theft, Dangerous Driving, Assaulting an Officer, and Flight from Police. There were no injuries and only minor damage all around.
