A 42-year-old Toronto man has been charged by provincial police after officers on patrol in Angus late Thursday night recovered a vehicle reported stolen from Hamilton.

Police say the officers were patrolling in the area of Massey Street when they received an automated licence plate recognition alert on a Kia Seltos.

A man was found near the vehicle and police launched into an investigation that resulted in his arrest.

The accused was charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

The suspect has a court date in March.
