There was a surprise for Barrie police underneath all the snow that has been dropped on the city in the past few days.

Late Wednesday morning, police were contacted about a vehicle that had been parked behind a Dunlop Street East establishment that was blocking snow removal in the parking lot.

The white GMC sport utility vehicle (SUV), according to police, had been reported stolen in Toronto last Thursday.

Once uncovered, police said the SUV was towed and the investigating police service was notified as to where it was being stored.
