A lot of work went into becoming the big bad in “Stranger Things.”

During an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," actor Jamie Campbell Bower talked about the process of becoming the villain Vecna.

He revealed he would have to spend over eight hours in a makeup chair every day, but a lot of work went into perfecting his voice.

“It started in this very nasally area, kind of more like Freddie Krueger, and it just wasn’t landing. So I went home and worked on it, did a bunch of reference work on like, ‘Hellraiser’ and Doug Bradley particularly.”

“And it said that you know, this deep, booming voice kind of comes out of the darkness.”

Any fan of the show knows he nailed it. So Fallon decided to have some fun with the deep dark voice.

He gave Bower some lines to say that Vecna would never say including inspirational quotes.

The highlight was Bower reading the lyrics to Lizzo’s “About Damn Time.”

It’s not the first time Bower got a job for his voice. The actor provides the voice for Skiff in the animated show “Thomas and Friends”
