Study break extended at Lakehead in wake of a cyber-attack

Investigation into the origins of the attack continues

A cyber-attack at Lakehead University means students at the Orillia campus are getting an extended winter study break.

Classes were to resume on Monday, but that has been moved to Friday, Feb. 26.

By Saturday, the university said its website and services, including its remote learning platform, had been restored. Students and other users were told they may continue to experience slowed or interrupted services.

The origin of the attack, which happened last Tuesday, is being investigated by Lakehead.
