One driver was charged with impaired driving in New Tecumseth after Nottawasaga OPP were alerted to the driver.

Just after noon on Tuesday, OPP responded to a traffic complaint near Young Street in Essa Township. A witness had reported seeing a driver stumble and struggle to stand after exiting their vehicle.

Officers found the vehicle in the parking lot the report led them to. They spoke with the driver and eventually determined they were impaired.

A 38-year-old from Brampton was arrested and booked on three charged including impaired operation, and possession of cocaine.

The driver is expected to appear in court in early August.
