3 stunt drivers charged in two days: South Simcoe Police

The South Simcoe Police Service charged three motorists with Stunt Driving in two days.

On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, an officer conducting speed enforcement on Canal Road in Bradford stopped a vehicle travelling 92 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. A 41-year-old woman from Bradford was charged.

On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, an officer conducting speed enforcement on Sideroad 5 in Bradford stopped a vehicle travelling 128 km/h In a posted 70 km/h zone. A 26-year-old man from Barrie was charged.

On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, an officer conducting speed enforcement on 6th Line in Innisfil stopped a vehicle travelling 145 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. A 50-year-old man from Innisfil was charged.

All three drivers immediately had their licence suspended for 30 days and their vehicle impounded for 14 days. Drivers convicted of stunt driving lose 6 demerit points; face fines from $2,000 to $10,000; receive potential jail time of up to six months; could lose their licence for a minimum of one year; and must complete a driver improvement course before their licence is reinstated.
