Sunday’s stormy weather ushered in more comfortable conditions

Heat and humidity not as intense for a few days

Some wild weather across the province Sunday, mainly in southwestern Ontario where Environment Canada is investigating a reported tornado in Belmont, south of London.

There were many tornado warnings issued yesterday, including for parts Muskoka, Haliburton and Kawartha Lakes. None developed, though the wind on northern Georgian Bay did reach 107 kilometres-an-hour at one point.

Despite the forecast for severe weather by late morning a few people still ventured out onto the waters of Lake Simcoe, Kempenfelt Bay and Georgian Bay. There are no reports of injuries.

Cooler air moved into the region along with yesterday’s storms.

Highs in the mid-20s are expected for the next couple of days with just a hint of humidity.
