The sun has set on a suspect that Barrie police allege stole $40,000 in sunglasses.

Police say the thefts took place 12 times at the same Georgian Mall store between Apr. 1 and Apr. 27.

A 34-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested by police earlier this month.

The accused has been charged with 12 counts each of theft and possession of property obtained by crime and one count of fail to comply with probation.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court at a later date.
