Suspect arrested after robbery at downtown Orillia business

Police say an employee was assaulted during a robbery at a downtown Orillia business.

According to the OPP, a man entered the business shortly before 10 a.m. on Monday and demanded cash then allegedly assaulted a staff member.

With the assistance of other businesses downtown and community partners, police arrested a 50-year-old man from Peterborough.

He has been charged with robbery with violence.

The suspect was held in custody for a bail hearing.
