A 49-year-old man is facing charges in connection with a police investigation into numerous break-and-enters in Angus.

On December 30, Ontario Provincial Police say they received a call about a break-in to a local business where two suspects broke the front glass door, stole items and fled the scene.

Then in the wee hours of New Year's Eve, police responded to break and enters at businesses on Mill Street including the Ultramar gas station, Uplift Cannabis Store and Angus Variety. In each case, the front doors were smashed that allowed the two suspects to gain entry.

OPP also dealt with several break-ins on Monday to sheds at homes on Brentwood Road where power tools and other items were taken.

The suspect, who is from Angus, was arrested on Thursday and is charged with eight counts of break-and enter, nine counts of breach of probation and one of obstruct police.

The accused was held for a bail hearing on Friday.
