A 51-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged in connection with a report of a person allegedly committing an incident act in the yard of a Cook Street home earlier this week.

Barrie police say around 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday a resident went out to their backyard and saw a man performing an indecent act. The suspect fled into a neighbouring yard.

About four hours later at the same home, a resident heard a noise outside again and saw the same person "acting in the same manner as earlier," police said.

A suspect was arrested on Thursday afternoon.

He has been charged with:

  • committing an indecent act x2
  • voyeurism x 2
  • trespassing by night.

He has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear today by video for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie.

The Barrie Police Service wishes to thank the community for the information that had been received since the details of these incidents were shared publicly earlier in the week.
