Suspect charged after person was stabbed in Orillia

A person was taken to a local hospital after police say the individual was assaulted with an edged weapon on Queen Street in Orillia.

Officers were called out around 1:20 Sunday afternoon and quickly located a suspect a short distance away.

A 44-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with the following:

·      Aggravated Assault

·      Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

The accused was held pending a bail hearing on November 13, 2023.
