Police Investigating Two Separate Stabbings

A man is in custody following a stabbing in Barrie, the second such attack in one day.

The Barrie Police Service says a 52-year-old man was arrested near Bayfield and Grove Streets Sunday evening after a downtown incident that sent one to hospital; Police spokesperson Peter Leon says a 41-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries from a bladed weapon used in the attack.

The suspect faces charges of Assault with a Weapon, and Weapons Dangerous.

Meanwhile, officers remained on scene through Monday afternoon, investigating the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old man at a Heather Street address. The two incidences are not connected.
