Suspect sought following bank robbery in downtown Barrie
Man claimed to be armed, according to police
Barrie Police are investigating a Monday morning bank hold-up.
Police were alerted to a bank robbery at the Scotiabank on Collier Street at just before 10 a.m., saying a male suspect approached the counter and claimed he had a weapon. Investigators say the suspect went behind the counter and began grabbing cash, before fleeing south along Owen Street.
Nobody was hurt in the incident.
The suspect is described as:
- Male
- Approximately 6’ tall
- Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black gloves, faded dark denim pants, black running shoes with a white sole.
