
A 28-year-old man from Kleinburg has been charged after South Simcoe Police (SSP) responded shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday to a report of a dangerous driver on Holland Street East in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
"Witnesses reported a grey Toyota RAV 4 swerving into oncoming lanes before striking a parked vehicle and fleeing the scene," SSP said in a news release.
Officers found the SUV a short time later travelling on Holland Street West and the driver was arrested.
Police allege they found evidence of drug use located within the vehicle.
The suspect has been charged with the following:
- careless driving
- failure to stop after an accident
- flight from a peace officer
- drive a vehicle with cannabis readily available
Police say the investigation is ongoing and further charges may be pending.
The accused has a court date next month.
