Swimmer Maggie Mac Neil wins Canada’s first Gold medal at the Tokyo Games

Canada has won its first Gold Medal of the Tokyo Games.

Swimmer Maggie Mac Neil, of London, won it in the 100-metre butterfly event. She had a remarkable second half of the race after making the 50-metre turn in seventh position.

Canada makes a splash in the pool on day two of the Tokyo Olympics

It’s Mac Neil’s second medal of the games. She won a silver medal Saturday in the 4×100 metre Freestyle Relay.
