First responders rescued a swimmer from the waters of Georgian Bay in Collingwood on Friday, and OPP are issuing a safety reminder.
Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP, Simcoe County paramedics, and Collingwood Fire and Rescue responded to a call at 4:45 p.m. about a young person believed to be drowning off the shore of Sunset Point Park.
"Collingwood OPP officers with the assistance of two members of the public, were able to successfully rescue the individual and return to shore safely," officers stated in a release.
"The individual was assessed by Paramedics and Fire. The individual was transported to Collingwood General Marine Hospital for precautionary monitoring."

Police say a "strong current and wavy weather conditions" pulled the person off the shore.
"The individual did not have a floatation device on their person and was later discovered to be an inexperienced swimmer," police said.
"Collingwood OPP is reminding the public to consider swimming conditions, avoid swimming alone and consider [their] swimming experience before entering the water."
