Take a Stroll Along The Waterfront with the City of Barrie

City Planner Hosting Walk To Chat About Planning for Barrie's Future

The City of Barrie wants to go on a long walk with you.

A Waterfront City Walk to be specific, an event happening all along Barrie’s waterfront starting at 10:00 Saturday morning. Anyone interested in learning what shape the city will take is invited to join this tour, starting where the North Shore Trail meets the Waterfront Trail, right at Mulcaster and Simcoe Streets.

A city planner will take folks on a 2.2km walk to the Allandale GO Station to discuss development and planning a community. “Creating a complete community in neighbourhoods throughout the city takes time, planning and strategic investment.” said Kathy Suggitt, Manager of Planning. “The waterfront is a good place from which to consider how the components of a complete community work together and for residents to share their ideas.”

The event is free to attend; no need to RSVP or register in advance, just show up and enjoy the walk.
