
Three men from Georgian Bay Township face firearms charges after an Ontario Provincial Police investigation in Tay Township.
Southern Georgian Bay OPP say just before noon on April 18, they spotted several people getting out of a parked vehicle at a business on Quarry Road.
Police confirmed that one of the individuals was wanted on an outstanding warrant. While speaking with the men, they noted a firearm inside the vehicle that was unsecured and within easy reach. The discovery led to the arrest of the three individuals.
A 48-year-old has been charged with:
- unauthorized possession of a firearm
- careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- transport a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition in a careless manner
- possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition orde3r
- failing to comply with a probation order
A 43-year-old was charged with:
- unauthorized possession of a firearm
- careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- transport a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition in a careless manner
A 32-year-old was charged with:
- careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition
- transporting a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition in a careless manner
All of the accused have a court date in July.
