Teen critically injured, another charged with aggravated assault in Bradford

The victim remains in critical condition in hospital

A 13-year-old male from Bradford West Gwillimbury has been charged with aggravated assault after another teen was critically injured in an altercation.

On Wednesday, September 14, just before 8:30 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service was called regarding a 13-year-old male who was taken to hospital after collapsing shortly after arriving home from school.

Police say an investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Bureau determined the teen had been injured in a physical altercation.

A 13-year-old Bradford male has been charged with aggravated assault. He was released to his parents pending a future court date.

The name of the accused cannot be released due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

According to police, the victim remains in critical condition in hospital.

Police say they have been made aware of a video of the fight that is circulating on social media.

They are appealing to anyone who has the video to submit it anonymously to Crime Stoppers at www.p3tips.com or call the anonymous tip line at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
