Teen charged with impaired after vehicle strikes hydro pole in Wasaga Beach

Huronia West OPP have charged a 17-year-old with impaired driving after a vehicle struck a hydro pole in Wasaga Beach.

Police say the collision occurred just before 1:30 Tuesday morning. When officers got to the scene, the vehicle was gone but was located after a brief time.

The teen, who is from Wasaga Beach, was also charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, as well as several Highway Traffic Act offences including being a novice driver with a blood alcohol content above zero and failure to report an accident.

The youth is to appear in court at a later date.
