A dust-up over the location of two bikes parked outside a store at a plaza in Innisfil escalated to the point where a 38-year-old man is facing several charges.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, South Simcoe Police responded to the area of 20th Sideroad and Innisfil Beach Road for a report of a youth struck by an ATV.
"Once on scene, police learned the incident began with a verbal altercation involving a male and two teenage boys at a nearby plaza. The male had asked the teens to move their bicycles which were parked outside a store. The teens left the plaza on their bikes and the male followed them in his vehicle," according to a police news release.
Police say the male got out of his vehicle and chased one of the teens before getting back into his car, then returned on an ATV and allegedly struck one of the youths on the sidewalk.
The teen was not injured.
The suspect from Innisfil was charged with dangerous operation, assault, and failure to stop after an accident.
He was released with a future court date.
