Parents of teens and tweens, have you noticed your kid covering their faces in photos lately?

It's part of the latest trend that sees Gen Z covering their nose and half their faces when part of a family photo.

This is a way to make the family happy by appearing in a family photo, but not having the embarrassment when your parents post it to their social media.

One example of this comes from Boxer Tyson Fury's family. His wife Paris recently posted a picture to her Instagram stories, and you will see her eldest daughter did the nose cover.

In an interview with the UK Sun, parenting expert Amanda Jenner says the online landscape can be hard for teens.

She says that includes when unfiltered or unedited photos of them are plastered on a parent's Facebook feed.

"The "nose cover," then, allows them to be in a photo to make their parents happy while maintaining autonomy."

Jenner points out that teenagers are in the 'acne-riddled awkward phase: A period where they aren't "embracing their appearance."

"It's important to remember that this phase is a normal part of growing up, where seeking independence and establishing personal boundaries are key developmental milestones," she added.

If you think about it, kids of all generations didn't like getting their picture taken.

When my mom would take a picture of me, I would pull my hoodie over my head, and we didn't even have social media.
