It's the movie we need and the movie we deserve. The Batman brought in an eye-popping $128.5 million at the weekend box office in North America.
Internationally it earned $120 million, bringing its total to $248.5 million worldwide.
The movie, starring Robert Pattinson as the dark and brooding cape crusader, is the second highest-grossing movie during the pandemic.
"Spiderman: No Way Home" earned $260 million on its opening weekend late last year.
Reports say "The Batman" cost $200 million to make, and several more millions were spent on marketing.
It's exclusively in theatres right now and won't be available on HBO Max for another 45 days.
The Queen of Country adds author to her resume
Dolly Parton and acclaimed author James Patterson have teamed up for a new novel.
Their collaborative novel called Run, Rose, Run hits store shelves today.
The book is about a girl named Annie Lee who moves to Nashville to pursue music. Patterson admits the idea is an old and worn-out story, so he turned to Dolly Parton for help.
In an interview with CBS, The queen of the country says, "I asked him, 'Why you need me? You're doin' pretty good on your own!"
Patterson says the book tells a cautionary tale about the music business and shows the dark side.
Parton wrote a 12-song album inspired by the characters and story.
Jamie Foxx got dumped after taking his date to Wasaga Beach
Jamie Foxx says his girlfriend dumped him because he took her to Wasaga Beach.
Speaking on the "Full Send Podcast", the actor recalled a time he was filming in Toronto.
Speaking with Canadian Kyle Forgeard, he shared that his girlfriend at the time was visiting from California.
On the recommendation of a friend, he took her on a date to Wasaga Beach for her birthday.
It didn't go as planned when it didn't quite live up to California standards.
Foxx says, "she was like 'I ain't with this s***, this doesn't look like Malibu.'"
However, Foxx says he had a great time. "I could understand how it's a whole lot of fun. I had a good time."
