**Spoilers** if you haven't seen season 4 of "A Handmaids Tale"
First images from season five of " The Handmaid's Tale " have been released.
They show an unhappy June looking up at the camera, and another shows Serena dressed in all black with a sly smile looking down.
Based on Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel, the show will hit Hulu in September.
The new season is expected to continue where four left off.
The shows synopsis reads:
"June faces the consequences for killing Commander Waterford while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. The widowed Serena attempts to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead's influence creeps into Canada.
Most characters are coming back, including Elizabeth Moss as June and Yvonne Strahovski as Serena Waterford.
One character we won't see is Emily, played by Alexis Bledel, who recently announced she wouldn't be returning to the show.
The first two episodes hit the streaming service on September 5th, followed by weekly episodes.
