The Plows Are Coming
City of Barrie Has Declared A 'Winter Maintenance Event'
For the third day running, the City of Barrie has declared a winter maintenance event. More than 15 cm of snow fell in the Barrie area on Tuesday night, and it has been off-and-on since. That means clean up is required, so make sure your vehicles are not parked on the street.
Winter Maintenance Event continues: overnight on-street parking restrictions in effect 12:01–7am Nov 17 (3–6am w/in @DowntownBarrie). Visit https://t.co/Ii3L1TFRVJ for today’s full update. #Barrie #BarrieSnow

The night shift started at 10pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Primary routes were covered by plows and the salt trucks. Plows moved on to secondary routes and residential streets in the morning. The full clean up will happen overnight, which means vehicles parked on the street between 12:01 and 7 am will be ticketed. They’ll also most likely end up snowed in – and nobody wants to dig out a car in the morning.
