Moana and Maui will once again board a boat, cross the sea and restore the heart of Te Fiti.

Disney has announced a live-action remake of the hit 2016 film "Moana," which earned $683 million worldwide.

The only thing we know about the remake so far is that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will return as Maui.

Johnson voiced the mischievous demigod in the original and was an immediate hit with audiences.

During the announcement, Johnson said "I'm deeply humbled and overcome with gratitude to bring the beautiful story of Moana to the live-action big screen."

"This story is my culture, and this story is emblematic of our people's grace and warrior strength. I wear this culture proudly on my skin and in my soul, and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reunite with Maui, inspired by the mana and spirit of my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, is one that runs very deep for me."

To add to the excitement, Auli'i Cravalho, who voiced Moana in the original, is to be an executive producer on the live-action version.

If you've never seen the film, or if you don't have kids that made you watch it on loop, the film is set in ancient Polynesia as a teen girl, and the demigod Maui set sail to save her island from being destroyed. It comes with a killer soundtrack too!

The project is in the very early stages with no release date yet.
