Pair arrested as residents, police, come across break-and-enter in progress

One from Collingwood, the other from Innisfil, both facing charges

Two people are facing charges following a daytime B&E in Collingwood.

Eyewitnesses called police mid-afternoon Tuesday after spying a pair stealing packages from front porches in Collingwood’s west end. Responding officers arrived in the area and noticed a disturbance at a home nearby.

AS it turns out, police came upon a break and enter in progress. The residents had just arrived home to find a pair of suspects in their home. Police took the two into custody.

A 34-year-old Collingwood man faces charges including possession of a dangerous weapon, break and enter, and theft. A 22-year-old man from Innisfil was also charged with theft.
