A man was arrested after a break-in and the theft of a safe at a Barrie veterinary hospital on Steel Street.
Barrie police responded to a report of an "insecure premise" at the hospital yesterday at 6:59 a.m.
Once at the scene, police found the front glass door had been smashed.
"From the investigation that followed and aided by video surveillance, it was very quickly learned that a lone male suspect arrived at the hospital riding a bicycle at 2:24 a.m.," police officials said Wednesday.
"Three minutes later, he was observed leaving the hospital carrying a safe and rode away on his bicycle. Video surveillance captured the entire incident and responding officers were able to identify the person responsible."
