Suspect arrested in theft of charitable items in Muskoka

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a person in connection with the theft of charitable items from a Muskoka restaurant.

Around 7:15 on Wednesday morning, Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a call from a restaurant that a man had stolen a quantity of items from a silent auction that they have been hosting to raise funds for charity.

A 34-year-old from Port Carling has been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of recognizance.

The accused has a court date next month.
