Third active outbreak declared at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre

Two patients have tested positive

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) has declared another outbreak within the hospital, this one in the Cancer Palliative Unit.

Two patients within the unit have tested positive.

With this latest outbreak declaration, RVH now has three active outbreaks, including in the Seniors Care Unit and the Transitional Care Unit. An earlier outbreak in the Integrated Stroke and Rehabilitation Unit has been declared over.

All patients in the affected units have been swab tested, are safely isolating in their rooms, and are being monitored closely for symptoms. Patients who have been discharged from the Cancer Palliative Unit will be contacted by public health and advised to self-isolate at home.
