A woman has been charged after Ontario Provincial Police received a call shortly before 11:30 Friday morning from the administrator of an Orillia high school who reported receiving a threat that was made from an anonymous phone number.
"Members of the Orillia Detachment and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended the high school and took appropriate measures given the nature of the threat to ensure the safety of the students and staff," police said in a news release on Friday afternoon.
Authorities said staff and students inside the school were relocated to a central area and students outside the building were asked to remain there.
According to the news release, a search of the school was conducted and police determined there was no threat, then allowed staff and students back into the building.
A suspect was arrested without incident.
The 54-year-old from Orillia has been charged with:
· Uttering threats
· Public Mischief
The accused has a court date next month.
