Three arrested after robbery in Port McNicoll

Passerby gave description of getaway vehicle

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested three people in connection with a Wednesday afternoon robbery of a small business on Talbot Street in Port McNicoll.

The victim told police one suspect appeared to be carrying a firearm and fled the premises in a waiting vehicle.

A passerby provided police with a description of the vehicle, a licence plate number and the direction the vehicle was headed.

Fifteen minutes later, the suspect vehicle was stopped by officers on Highway 93 near Midland. A male and female were placed under arrest. A second male was found hiding in the rear of the vehicle. Police also seized a pistol-style pellet gun.

The investigation continues.
