Three charged after man dragged by a vehicle in Orillia

Victim was walking with a friend along the waterfront

OPP have charged three men after a fourth said was dragged by a vehicle on the Orillia waterfront.

Police say two men were walking along Esplanade Street the night of August 28 when a vehicle pulled up and the occupants started yelling profanities at them.

The vehicle returned a short time later. This time the two men were sprayed with beer.

When the vehicle returned a third time, police say the victim approached and began a conversation with the men inside. The driver pulled away quickly, dragging the man about 25 metres.

The accused are from Barrie, Ramara and Bracebridge, all in their 20s.

Charges include assault and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
