
Southern Georgian Bay OPP charged three drivers in relation to recent alleged impaired driving, each after separate incidents in Midland.
First, on Saturday around 8 p.m., an officer travelling on Harbourview Drive noticed a vehicle crossing the centre line of the road, which prompted a traffic stop.
The officer stopped the vehicle on Fuller Avenue, where a conversation took place that gave police the inclination the driver was impaired by alcohol. After a breath sample was demanded by the officer, which the driver failed, an arrest was made.
A 40-year-old woman from Tiny was given two charges related to impaired driving and another for driving left of the centre line.

Then, on Monday around 10 p.m., a member of the public reported a vehicle on Bayshore Drive that lost control and struck a telephone pole amidst snowy conditions. The driver of the vehicle had stopped briefly but fled the scene after the collision.
Police nearby followed tracks in the snow to a residence on Queen Street, where a vehicle matching a provided description was spotted parked behind the home.
The responding officer found the driver, and subsequently arrested her for failing to remain at the scene. Then, the officer demanded a breath sample, which was refused.
After being brought to the detachment, a 30-year-old from Midland charges with impaired driving and failure to comply with a demand.
Next, on Tuesday, just after 6 p.m., police got a call from a citizen who saw someone that appeared to be impaired leave a restaurant on King Street and get behind the wheel of a vehicle.
After a vehicle description was provided, an officer located it travelling on Elizabeth Street. During a conversation with the driver, the officer noticed signs of impairment and made an arrest.
Once breath samples were provided, the 72-year-old man from Midland was handed two impaired driving charges.
All three parties were released from custody and are set to appear in court in Midland on November 27. Their licences were suspended for 90 days and vehicles impounded for seven days.
