Ticking toy bomb game pulled from store shelves

Defuse or lose

Toymaker Yulu says it was meant as a strategy game for kids, but has apologized and is no longer shipping its Cut the Wire game to stores North America.

In the game, players race to diffuse a brightly-coloured ticking toy bomb, connected to numerous wires, before it pretends to explode.

Parents complained it was insensitive and inappropriate.

The game was recommended for those 8 years of age and up.
