No timeline for reopening of Gateway Casinos in Ontario following cyberattack

Gateway says its utmost concern is the protection of personal data

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment locations in Ontario will remain closed for the "coming days" after a cybersecurity incident on Sunday put a stop to its operations.

"We have retained third-party cyber professionals who are working 24/7 to help us restore the IT environment," Gateway said on its Facebook page. "Our utmost concern is the protection of personal data and information. At this point, we do not have any information indicating that this incident involves any compromise of personal data."

Gateway said it was notifying the relevant privacy officials and gaming regulator about the incident.

The closure impacts Casino Rama, Gateway Casinos in Innisfil and Playtime Casino in Wasaga Beach.

Casino Rama Resort's Hotel, Spa, Weirs restaurant and St. Germain's restaurant will remain open.
