Toronto woman hit with provincial fine after police say she rented out Innisfil AirBNB and held gatherings there

Provincial order restricts short term rentals to emergency use only

A Toronto woman has been charged under provincial COVID rules after police say she rented out an AirBNB.

South Simcoe Police responded to a number of complaints from the community in regards to recent gatherings at an address in the area of 25th Sideroad and 9th Line of Innisfil. On Wednesday, police served a Toronto woman with a provincial offenses notice for failing to comply with the Reopening Ontario Act.

The South Simcoe Police Service reminds everyone that, under the province’s emergency orders, short-term rentals are only permitted for individuals who are in need of housing during the emergency period.
