An altercation in a Tottenham parking lot has led to multiple charges against two people laid by Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Wednesday, just after 12 p.m., OPP responded to a report of a disturbance on Queen Street North in the parking lot of a local business, where police saw a large gathering of students and several damaged vehicles.

This prompted an investigation which revealed an altercation had happened earlier involving three vehicles, including a blue Acura, a black Audi, and a Volkswagen.

Escalation occurred when the driver of the Acura intentionally struck the passenger side of the Audi, causing minor injuries to an occupant which were later dealt with at a nearby hospital.

The driver of the Acura then continued to operate the vehicle throughout the lot and hit a second occupied vehicle before taking off. These events were all backed up by security camera footage.

A 19-year-old male suspect was later found in Alliston, where officers found him walking near the Acura.

Another 16-year-old suspect fled the scene in the Acura during the arrest but later turned himself in to police.

Both suspects were handed multiple charges including two counts of assault with a weapon, while the 16-year-old suspect was also booked for flight from peace officer.

The two individuals have been held for a bail hearing and the investigation is ongoing.
