Traffic stop on HWY 400 in Oro-Medonte leads to seizure of fentanyl
Police say a motorist was stopped for stunt driving
Two individuals from the Toronto area face charges following a traffic stop on Highway 400 in Oro-Medonte where OPP seized fentanyl.
Police say on Monday, Feb 6, around noon, a motorist was stopped and arrested for stunt driving.
Officers say they then located cannabis accessible to the driver, and a large amount of fentanyl – over 250 grams.
A 26-year-old Scarborough man is up on:
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance, for the purposes of trafficking – opioid (other than Heroin)
- Possession of proceeds of crime – under $5000
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
While a 24-year-old Toronto man was charged with:
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance, for the purposes of trafficking – opioid (other than Heroin)
- Possession of proceeds of crime – under $5000
The accused were held for a bail hearing on Tuesday at Orillia court.
