A defective headlight caught the attention of an Ontario Provincial Police officer on Saturday night, which resulted in a motorist being pulled over on Mosley Street at 52nd Street in Wasaga Beach.

The officer demanded the 33-year-old motorist submit to a roadside alcohol screening which registered a fail on the breathalyzer.

The Wasaga Beach resident was charged with impaired driving, driving a vehicle with an open container of liquor, improper tires, driving without proper headlights and failing to surrender an insurance card.

The accused was dinged with a seven-day vehicle impoundment and a 90-day licence suspension.

Minutes later, the same officer stopped a motorist on Main Street in Wasaga Beach after a vehicle was seen with a defective licence plate light.

The driver was ordered to submit to a breathalyzer test which registered a fail.

A 46-year old from Mississauga was charged with impaired driving and having an improper licence plate light.

This person also had their vehicle impounded and their driver's licence suspended.
