Two Armed Robberies a Week Apart Have Barrie Police Chasing One Bad Guy

Same Suspect Wanted for Thefts That Happened Exactly A Week Apart

Cops are looking for a suspect accused of making a repeat performance.

Two armed robberies in Barrie, and a week apart; Barrie Police believe the same man is behind both. The first took place around 2:00 in the morning of June 17th, when investigators say the suspect went into a gas station at Mapleview and Essa, then showed the clerk a weapon while demanding cash.

The second report came a week to the hour after the first. A suspect entered a convenience store on Leacock Drive at Lampman Lane, according to police, with a weapon and demands for cash.

The suspect is described as:

  • White
  • male
  • Mid 20s to early 30s
  • Approximately 5’8” – 6’0” tall, medium build
  • Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a logo on the front left, light coloured piping and a logo on the back bottom right and a dark grey shirt underneath the hooded sweatshirt, a black bandana with white lettering covering his face and green running shoes
  • In the first occurrence, the suspect was wearing black track pants and grey gardening gloves with black palms
  • In the second occurrence, the suspect was wearing what is believed to be the same pants turned inside out and yellow gardening gloves with black palms
