During the early hours of Saturday, May 27, a commercial business in Alcona was targeted in a break-in, leading to the arrest of two Newmarket men.

Shortly after 3:30 am, South Simcoe Police received reports describing the sound of glass breaking near Johnny Burger and were provided with a description of a suspect vehicle that was spotted fleeing the scene.

Officers swiftly located the vehicle on Innisfil Beach Road, where they initiated a traffic stop, resulting in the apprehension of two male suspects and the recovery of break-in tools.

The two individuals, (33) and (37), were charged with four offenses each in connection with the incident. The charges include breaking and entering into a business, possession of break-in instruments, possession of stolen property, and mischief.
