Two Barrie residents charged Monday after two vehicles were stolen

One of two Barrie residents is up on more than a dozen charges

Nottawasaga OPP were able to track down a pair of suspects after a homeowner reported being awakened during a break and enter at his home around 9 a.m. Monday in the area of the 9th Line and County Road 90 in Essa Township.

He reported a vehicle had been stolen from the property.

Police located the accused in the area of Highway 27, south of County Road 90. At that time, a female was taken into custody. The man fled on foot, eventually stealing another vehicle and travelling into Barrie.

Nottawasaga OPP and Barrie Police eventually took the man into custody in the area of Ferndale Drive and Edgehill Drive. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Police don’t believe there are any other outstanding suspects related to this incident.

A 25 year old Barrie man has 17 charges to his name including break and enter, flight from police, assault police, possession of cocaine, possession of opioid for the purpose of trafficking, and other offences.

A 21 year old Barrie woman faces four charges including trafficking, theft of a motor vehicle, break and enter, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
