
Four people, two from Barrie and two from Caledon, are facing charges after provincial police recovered a stolen vehicle in Wasaga Beach.
On Friday, Jan. 16, police say an officer spotted a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Main Street.
"While passing the vehicle, the officer received an ALPR (Automated Licence Plate Reader) alert indicating that the vehicle was stolen," OPP said in a news release.
The vehicle was pulled over and the officer began a theft investigation.

As a result, a 39-year-old from Caledon has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, operation of a vehicle while prohibited, resist a peace officer, escape lawful custody, five counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and one count each of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and failure to comply with a release order.
A 31-year-old and a 38-year old, both of Barrie, and a 31-year-old from Caldeon also face five counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and one count each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The suspects are to appear in court in Collingwood on March 10.
